The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
