The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
