The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
