The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
