The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 shall call for destruction 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
