The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
