The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
