The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
