The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
