۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
