The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
