The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 And the promised day, 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 When they were sitting near it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise, 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 Doer of what He will. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)! 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
