The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky with its constellations, 1 And the promised day, 2 And the witness and the witnessed, 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they sat by it, 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious One, 15 Doer of what He will. 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 of Pharaoh and of Thamood? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
