The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the sky with its constellations, 1 By the Promised Day! 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 when they were seated around it 6 And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses. 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 As for those who believed and acted righteously, theirs shall be Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 Always doing whatever He wills. 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
