The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And by the Day promised, 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 the fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they sat by it 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 Verily those who believed and worked righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens whereunder the rivers flow; that is the supreme achievement. 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 although Allah surrounds them. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved! 22
