The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
