The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heaven and the night-comer 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17

God the Almighty always says the truth.
