The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
