The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And no trifle. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
