The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
