The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
