The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
