The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are devising guile, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17

God the Almighty always says the truth.
