The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, 1 Who has created (everything), and then proportioned it; 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 And Who brings forth herbage, 4 Then maketh it to stubble dusky. 5 [O Prophet!] We shall make you recite the Quran so that you will not forget any of it -- 6 Except what Allah should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden. 7 We shall make all your tasks easy. 8 So render good counsel if good counsel will avail. 9 in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God,] 10 but it will be ignored by the most unfortunate, 11 [He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire, 12 then he shall neither die therein, nor live. 13 Prosperous is he who purifies himself, 14 And who remembereth the name of his Lord, and then prayeth. 15 But rather you prefer the life of this world! 16 although the life to come is better and more enduring. 17 Surely this is in the ancient scrolls, 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
