The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High, 1 who creates [every thing,] and thereupon forms it in accordance with what it is meant to be, 2 decreed their destinies, and provided them with guidance. 3 It is He who has caused the grass to grow, 4 Then makes it dried up, dust-colored. 5 WE SHALL teach thee, and thou wilt not forget [aught of what thou art taught,] 6 unless God wills it to be otherwise. He knows all that is made public and all that remains hidden. 7 and [thus] shall We make easy for thee the path towards [ultimate] ease. 8 Therefor remind (men), for of use is the reminder. 9 in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God,] 10 But the wretched one will avoid it - 11 he who [in the life to come] shall have to endure the great fire 12 Then he neither dies in it, nor lives. 13 He indeed hath attained bliss who hath cleansed himself, 14 And who mentioned the name of his Lord, then offered prayer. 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 Though the life to come is better and abiding. 17 This is what is written in the ancient heavenly Books, 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
