Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 and prepared goblets, 14 cushions ranged, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
