Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And cups set at hand. 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
