Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a high Garden 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And cushions ranged 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
