NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 a warning to humans, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 in Gardens they will question 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
