Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 In a high Garden 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 and cushions arrayed 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
