Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 labouring, weary, 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And goblets set at hand 14 And cushions lined up 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
