Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 in a garden sublime, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
