Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
