Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 and cushions arrayed 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
