Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 In a Garden on high, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
