Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions lined up 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
