Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
