Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 in a garden sublime, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
