Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 in a sublime garden, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the mountains - how they have been established? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 you are not their keeper. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
