Al-Shams
The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Sun and his (glorious) splendour; 1 by the moon when it follows the sun, 2 And the day when it shows it, 3 and the night as it veils it darkly! 4 The heavens and its architecture, 5 By the earth and Him Who spread it forth, 6 by the soul and Who shaped it 7 Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it; 8 He has succeeded who purifies it, 9 and failed has he who seduces it. 10 Thamood cried lies in their insolence 11 When the basest of them broke forth 12 although God's apostle had told them, "It is a she-camel belonging to God, so let her drink [and do her no harm]!" 13 However, they rejected him and slew her. So their Lord completely destroyed them and their city for their sins. 14 He has no fear of its sequel. 15
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
