The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the midmorning, 1 and by the calm of night, 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 and the Hereafter will indeed be better for you than the present life; 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge? 6 And find you lost (that is, unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)? 7 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with oppression, 9 And repulse not the beggar; 10 And as for the favor of your Lord, do announce (it). 11
