The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And accepts the best, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 and, behold, Ours is [the dominion over] the life to come as well as [over] this earlier part [of your life]: 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 who belied and turned away, 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 They do not expect any reward 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 He verily will be content. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
