The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 and the day in splendour 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
