The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 pay their religious tax 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 Thereafter you will certainly die 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
