The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
