The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And affirms goodness, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And rejects the best, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
