Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the morning hours 1 and by the night when it covers the world with peace: 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 Thy Lord shall give thee, and thou shalt be satisfied. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)? 6 Did He not find you a wanderer so He guided you? 7 And He found thee destitute, so He enriched thee. 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 nor drive away the one who asks. 10 and as for thy Lord's blessing, declare it. 11
