The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We will now call the guards! 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
