The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
