In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
